In what many described as "the trip from hell" a bus load of Northwest Florida Democrats journeyed to Washington D.C. to try and "influence" the DNC to seat all of the delegates from Florida at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

Many things were learned on the trip. Margie Purkerson loves Abba, Harold finds it hard to be humble (stay tuned for the video) and they not only don't provide bus drivers with Onstar, they don't provide them with maps or even directions. Some gas stations don't know what credit cards they take and will allow you to pump $600 worth of fuel and then get angry with you for producing the wrong card. When you are absolutely lost you can always find an entrance to the freeway at the airport. The Washington monument is a beautiful the first five times you see it in the period of 45 minutes. Backing up in a bus on a busy D.C. street is almost as exciting as watching a NASCAR wreck, only you might be a part of it.  Ever had a D.C police officer stop traffic so you can turn around and for the 10th time try and get to where you are going without endangering your passengers or the pedestrians?

In the end, the DNC decided that each delegate would be seated but only count 1/2. We decided to fly next time!
