Santa Rosa County College Graduates collectively owe approximately $84 MILLION. That is not including students with an associates degree, vocational certificate, and those who unfortunately didn't complete a higher education but are still saddled with debt. Lenders took advantage of students who were not fortunate enough to be able to pay cash for their college education. Now those graduates are delaying the purchase of a home, starting a family, and saving for retirement. This creates a drags on our local economy, in addition to the stress and anxiety associated with this immense financial burden.  Santa Rosa County DEC supports student debt cancellation.
