Democrats Provide $2.3 MILLION In Infrastructure To Modernize Gulf Breeze Pedestrian Overpass

Updated: Jun 22, 2023

GULF BREEZE, FL - Voters across the nation turned out in record numbers in 2020 to elect leaders that would uphold our freedoms, prioritize community safety, and usher in economic prosperity. During the last Congressional Session Florida Democrats passed a HUGE infrastructure bill which will fund a modern pedestrian overpass in Gulf Breeze Proper.

Congressman Matt Gaetz, who represents the Gulf Breeze area in Congress, voted against funding for the much needed infrastructure project in our county. "We've seen unprecedented residential and business growth in Gulf Breeze and across Santa Rosa County, but unfortunately our infrastructure often lags decades behind our population

growth. The $13.2 MILLION community investment, provided by Democrats in Congress and the Biden-Harris administration, will help modernize the county to safely accommodate our growth," says B.J. Brunious, communications chair for the Santa Rosa County Democratic Party.

We continue to see Republicans in Florida, show up to the ribbon cuttings of community projects they voted against. Unfortunately local media outlets frequently omit the fact that our locally elected officials did not support the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and that Florida Democrats provided the funding for most of these projects.

Democrats will continue to govern for all Floridians, but we are not always the greatest at publicizing the wonderful ways we build safe and prosperous communities. So when Republicans like Alex Andrade, Doug Broxson, and Matt Gaetz show up for the photo-ops, let them know you know better.
